Wow classic client freezing. Dec 1, 2023 · So I’ve been playing Season of Discovery, and while playing through I have kept having this strange glitch where my game will freeze, my entire PC will black screen/shut off output very briefly, then return to (relative) normal. I Wow wants a lot of L2 and L3 cache on the CPU and these days the client is pretty good at using hyperthreading. To forestall advice re PC build etc I have an AMD Ryzen 7 7800 8 core processor and 32g RAM running on Windows 11 latest release so it is NOT the PC! I’d like to be clear that Game freezing for 5-10 secs at a time and then continues as normal (only WoW) The game continues to freeze for anything up to 1 minute. It’s not all the time and it seems to be random. A few things I'd try is a fresh install, for whatever reason this has seemed to improve some parts of performance for me and some friends even though keeping the add-ons and wtf folders which save addon settings. It affects my PC to the point where on a reload it closes Discord entirely (incl. sometimes I can go a couple hours before it freezes, sometimes a few minutes.
